Pilot Valves Metering Curves

Metering curves are divided in four categories based on their shape, the main difference is if the metering curve is all linear or is "broken" i.e. has a midpoint with two linear parts. Second difference is at the end part of the handle stroke, either the pressure is held by the operator at an achieved level or by design goes to a fully opened stage (i.e. with a "step").

  • Type A: Linear characteristic without step
  • Type B: Linear characteristic with step
  • Type C: Broken characteristic without step
  • Type D: Broken characteristic with step
